Kakching, May 21 2021:
Heirok Block Congress Committee (HBCC) has alleged that Heirok MLA Th Radheshyam, who is the chairman of Heirok Khangarok Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) for Heirok assembly constituency, did not allow HBCC members to distribute aid to Covid-19 patients at the Centre on Friday.
Speaking in connection with the alleged incident, HBCC publicity secretary M Tomthin Meitei claimed that they approached Heirok Khangarok CHIC secretary L Jadumani for providing aid to Centre, but he informed them that they must first take permission from the chairman.
On asking the MLA he told to first take approval from secretary.
This to and fro continued until they got a call from the MLA denying them permission to enter the CHIC, thus they had to return back without delivering the aid, he added.
Tomthin continued that it is very unfortunate that world over any aid during Covid-19 is welcomed with open hand, but in case of Heirok they were not allowed to distribute aid.
The statement that the CHIC opened for Heirok AC is being run by Heirok MLA's own fund, raises question on where has the fund provided by the government for the pandemic and Local Area Development Fund has gone.
The action of a people's representative of not allowing distribution of aid is strongly condemned by HBCC, he said.
Meanwhile, Moirangthem Ibotombi Memorial Charitable Trust on Friday informed that anyone from Heirok AC who is in need of oxygen or ambulance can contact the Trust at mobile number - 9774293370 and 9366262537.The Trust will freely provide whatever service it can.
