Source: Chronicle News Service
Imphal, January 03 2023:
In connection with Imoinu Iratpa Numit, food safety officials inspected and checked presence of forma lin (formaldehyde) in fishes imported into the state from outside.
Using kits produced by Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, food safety officials visited shops and markets in Imphal West and Imphal East districts where imported fishes are sold and checked presence of formalin.
Though there was no sign of presence of formalin on imported fishes during the inspection, food safety officials created public awareness on cleaning fish with clear running water and cooking at temperature not below 75 degree Celsius.
