SP advises landlords to uphold ILP guidelines

A team of Lilong police station arrested three non-Manipuris with expired/ invalid ILP passes on Monday.
The three arrested non-Manipuris are Afajud-din Laskar (29) s/o Tajuddm Laskar of Nutan Ram Nagar Part IV, PS-Sonai Silchar Cachar, Assam (arrested from the house of one Md Atao (45) s/o Md Siraj Ahamed of Lilong Uku near Oil Pump); Anwar Hussain Laskar (28) s/o Sainul Haque Laskar of Boile Cha Bagan, Lakhipur-PS, Cachar, Assam; and Jomir Hussain Laskar (24) s/o Sainul Haque Laskar of Boile Cha Bagan, Lakhipur PS, Cachar, Assam (arrested from the house of one Md Sahidul Haque (35) s/o Md Fajul Haque of Lilong Leihaokhong).
Parading the arrested people before media persons in a press meet held at Lilong PS on Tuesday, SP (Thoubal) Jogeshchandra Haobijam informed that as part of the routine ILP drive carried out by the police, a team arrested the trio working as labourers from near Lilong Uku Oil Pump and Lilong Laihaokong.
All three of them will be sent to their respective states as soon as possible, the SP conveyed, while adding that the drive will continue in the district.
Urging the people of the district to check the ILP documents of non Manipuris before leashing out rooms, the SP informed that as per the new ILP guideline, legal action will be initiated against landlords/property owners who allow non-Manipuris with expired/invalid to stay.
He then appealed to the public to inform the nearest police station if they come across anyone with expired/invalid ILP passes and also send such individuals to the District Magistrate concerned for renewal of the passes.
