AR organises security conference

Imphal, September 20 2022: 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised a security conference at Tamenglong district headquarters to promote friendship, synergy and increase security consciousness in area by people's participation.

According to PRO (Defence), the programme was also intended to seek suggestions and ideas on how to improve security in area for construction workers.

44 Assam Rifles commandant welcomed and thanked leaders all the CSOs for their role in transformation of the society as a whole and stated that CSOs occupy an important position in the development dialogue that provides opportunities to bring communities together for collective action, mobilising society to articulate demands and voice concerns at local, regional and national level.

In uniting people, to advance shared goals and interests, CSOs have been very successful in our area, the commandant said and also highlighted the present security scenario and coordination aspects with security forces and leaders along with method of exchange of information regarding activities of anti-social elements so as to bring peace and prosperity in the area.

The commandant discussed various issues related to security, education, job opportunities, health, social awareness and government schemes with the leaders.

He also informed everyone present about the various welfare projects undertaken by the Battalion in the region.

A common consensus was made that, it is duty of both security forces and locals to ensure safety for construction labourers and not let the pace of development in the region mellow down.

The leaders appreciated the efforts of 44 Assam Rifles in the area and affirmed their support and commitment in all future aspects.

The conclave ended with exchange of valuable suggestions and points.
