Bishnupur, June 11 2022: All Manipur Government Drivers and Technicians' Association (AMGDTA) observed the 4th Government Drivers' Day at its office here on Saturday.

The programme, which started with two minutes' silence to pay respect to deceased drivers, was attended by AMGDTA chairman S Ibochou Singh as chief guest and president K Ibomcha Sharma as functional president, while former general secretary Ng Kalachand Singh and administration secretary L Noren Singh were present as guests of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, S Ibochou urged the government to provide grade pay to drivers as well as regularise service of work charged and muster-roll employees.

He also said that the government should fix uniform of drivers in consistent manner for all departments.

As a part of the observance, those present planted saplings around the office complex.
