Imphal, June 11 2022:
Sagolband AC MLA, RK Imo has appealed to the parents and teachers to educate the children about leadership role and discipline to ensure that they become responsible citizens who will contribute towards a developed society.
RK Imo made the above appeal while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of 'Investiture of Primary Prefects' Council 2022-23' at the multipurpose hall of UNACCO School at Khongman today.
He maintained that it is fortunate that a school like UNACCO is striving to provide quality education in the State when some of the schools in the State are unable to do so though there are a huge number of schools.
Expressing the need to inculcate inter-school and inter-district sports among the schools in the State, the MLA said that pressurising the students for a good academic record only without co-curricular activities will do no good.
In this regard, the Education Minister had also expressed the desire to formulate a policy and implement it effectively for the welfare of students, he added.
While asserting that students are the backbone of the society, RK Imo said that apart from the teachers the parents also have a major role in instilling discipline and other important values among
the children.
He further expressed belief that UNACCO will continue to work earnestly to produce eligible students who will contribute in striving for a developed society.
Delivering the presidential speech, Chairman of UNACCO School, N Irabanta stated that nurturing a child and shaping their future is one of the most important roles in a person's life.
The problems faced by the students in searching for good educational institutions outside the State by spending huge amounts of money will be solved if Manipur has such schools which can be at par with renowned schools outside the State.
Informing that UNACCO school has well developed infrastructure such as a swimming pool, football field etc, Irabanta said that plans are underway to add more prominent infrastructures and two higher education institutions in the interest of the students in the State.
