Paddy pile found torched; MLA assures action

Imphal, November 10 2021:
Unknown miscreants) on Wednesday burnt down paddy crop readied for threshing which was harvested from 7 sangam of farmland belonging to four farmers at Senjam Chirang and Senjam Khunou under Sekmai police station.
The burned paddy crop included yield from two sangam each of Taorem Shyam Sunder Singh (60), son of late T Tomal Singh of Senjam Khunou; Irungbam Yaiskul (58), son of late I Jugindro Singh and Laishram Yajanta Singh (40), son of t Ibotombi Singh, all from Senjam Khunou along with one sangam of yield of Yumnam Biyanda Singh (25), son of Y Ingobi Singh of Phumlou Awang Leikai.
According to police reports, the fire was first spotted by morning joggers who informed the police and a fire service team immediately rushed to the spot to extinguish the fire.
But by the time the fire was snuffed out the paddy had been totally damaged.
The site was later visited by Sekmai MLA H Dingo who assured the farmers oftaking up suitable action against the culprits.
A case has been registered by Sekmai police station and investigation started to nabbed the perpetrator(s) .
