DC Chandel Trophy Football Tournament kicks off

Kakching, November 10 2021:
The DC Chandel Trophy Football Tournament 2021 being organised District Sports Association (DSA), Chandel kicked off on Tuesday at Mini Sports Complex, Chandel Christian.
An opening ceremony of the tournament was held with DC Chandel Mayanglambam Rajkumar, SP Chandel Lourembam Deben, 18 Assam Rifles CO Col Ajit Khatri, and 8 Batalion Manipur Rifles CO S Somorjit attending as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
DSA Chandel president Ts Chamna Anal, vice president/convenor of tournament HL Lovingson Anal and others were also present at the opening event.
An exhibition match between DC XI and DSA XI was played before the opening match of the tournament.
The exhibition match ended in a 1-1 draw with additional SP Chandel L Shankerjit scoring for DC XI and Zoueamthang scoring for DSA XI.
In the opening match, CYC (Chandonpokpi) beat HSC (Hnatham) 3-1.Th Phalin (40+2), Kh Obedna (49th) and Th Thaodien (54th) scored for CYC while Moliverna (80+3) was the only scorer for HSC.
Altogether 42 teams are competing in the tournament.

On Thursday, RSC will play PUSA at 12:30 pm and MFC will face KYC at 2 pm at Mini Sports Complex, Chandel, while PYC will take on CYC at 12:30 pm and UNISA will meet CPFC at 2 pm at Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School playground, Japhou.
