Labourer succumbs to bullet wounds

Imphal, November 10 2021:
A labourer, who was shot at by unidentified persons on Tuesday around 11.25 pm at Laiphrakpam under Wangoi police station, succumbed to injuries early Wednesday morning.
The deceased labourer has been identified as Md Ryajul Islam (25) son of Md Ajman Ali of Assam's Moregaon district.
A police source informed that Ryajul Islam was injured as the gunmen fired towards a makeshift, camp for labourers engaged in the construction of a PMGSY funded bridge at Laiphrakpam.
Two bullets hit Md Ryajul, one on his back and the other on his chest.
The perpetrators reportedly fled towards Lilong after the attack.
Md Ryajul was immediately rushed to Raj Medicity at North AOC and underwent treatment but succumbed to the bullet injuries early Wednesday morning.
A team of Wangoi police station led by OC and a commando team rushed to the spot and recovered one empty cartridge of 9mm calibre.
A case has been registered at Wangoi PS while Md Ryajul's corpse has been deposited at RIMS mortuary for post mortem.
