2 unvaccinated persons die of Covid, 64 test positive

Imphal, November 10 2021:
The State continued to see COVID-19 fatalities amongst unvaccinated individuals with 2 unvaccinated individuals succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours, yet again.
With this, the death toll has risen to 1,940 .
The two fatalities were reported from Imphal West and Thoubal with one of the deceased having comorbidities.
In the period, at least 64 fresh Covid cases were reported out of 2,194 samples tested, putting the daily positivity rate at 2.9 percent.
The fresh cases were detected from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (44), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (1), Churachandpur (2), Kangpokpi (1) and Ukhrul (4) .
1 personnel of CAPF was also found COVID-19 positive.
All districts except Imphal West and Ukhrul reported a TPR below 5 .
TPR of Imphal West stood at 6.3 percent with 44 samples returning positive out of 697 samples sent for testing and Ukhrul had a TPR of 7.4 percent as 4 samples out of 54 samples returned positive for Covid.
With 45 individuals discharged today from home isolation (11), RIMS (2), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (26), the State has 724 active cases.
The recovery rate of the State is 97.86% .
Altogether 7,538 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered on November 9 .
As of yesterday the State has administered a total of 20,24,700 doses including 12,55,650 1st doses and 7,69,050 2nd doses.
Jiribam, Imphal West and Kakching have the highest rate of vaccination (both doses) having vaccinated 47.75, 47.448 and 42.69 percent of their eligible populations respectively.
Kangpokpi with 9.30 percent, Ukhrul (14.10 percent) and Kamjong (16.09 percent) are the worst performing districts in Covid vaccinations.
