Condolences pour in for Laishram Sadananda Singh

A condolence meeting was held at the office of AH India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) at Singjamei Chingamathak today condoling the demise of Professor Laishram Sadananda Singh.
The meeting was jointly organised by AIPSO and Senior Citizen Manipur to condole the demise of the former general secretary of the two organisations who passed away yesterday, said a press release by Senior Citizen Manipur.
Remembering him as a warrior of peace, the major contributions of L Sadananda Singh in the field of literature and other societal issues were recounted during the condolence meeting and said that his demise is a big loss for the State and observed two minute silence praying for the peace of the departed soul.
Former minister Dr M Nara Singh, acting chairman of Manipur Human Rights Commission, Khaidem Mani Singh and retired scientist A Chaoba Sharma attended as the presidium members in today's meeting.
The All Manipur College Teachers Association (AMCTA) also held an online emergency meeting today condoling the demise of L Sadananda Singh who was also the former principal of Manipur College and former vice president of AMCTA, said a press release by AMCTA.
And an online condolence meeting was also held yesterday condoling the demise of Laishram Sadananda' Singh who was the senior member of Manipuri Language Advisory Board presided by Nongmaithem Kirankumar Singh, convenor of Manipuri Language Advisory Board Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.

Sadananda Singh was remembered as a renowned academician with great knowledge of Manipuri language and culture who strove earnestly for the development of education sector in the State, said a press release by the Board.
The attendees observed two minute silence as a mark of respect and prayed mat the departed soul may rest in peace and also shared the grief and loss of the bereaved family.
Manipuri Sahitya Parishad too joined in mourning the demise of Prof L Sadananda Singh and recalled his countless literary contributions.
