AR holds security meet, extends medical aid

Imphal, August 29 2021:
Khoupum Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a security coordination meet at Lamdangmei in Noney district on Saturday for village headmen, youth club members and residents.
During the meet, locals were sensitised and updated on current security situation existing in the area and measures being taken by Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the area.
According to PRO IGAR (S), interaction was also carried out on necessary measures required to be undertaken by locals in synergy with Assam Rifles for maintaining a strict vigil against illicit activities in the area specially extortion and smuggling.
The locals expressed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles tor conduct of such security meetings and ensuring peace in the area and assured their commitment and assistance in maintaining the same.
Meanwhile, Khoupum Battalion extended life saving medical assistance to a snake bite victim of Taudaijang village in Noney district.
The PRO informed in an other release that a 65-year old male bitten by a venom ous snake on August 29 was rushed by the villagers to the Gaidimjang Company Operating Base of Assam Rifles.
The Assam Rifles medical centre immediately rendered life- saving medical care to the patient and stabilised condition of the man, who was then referred to RIMS Imphal for further treatment.
