Minister Letpao scans Moreh for developmental projects

Water Resources and YAS minister Letpao Haokip on Friday carried out inspection at different places in Moreh town where the government plans to take up various developmental works.
Interacting with some media per sons on the sidelines of inspecting the wooden bridge built over the Khunjaorok river at Moreh ward number 6, minister Letpao acknowledged that the present condition of the bridge is extremely bad and it must be causing huge inconvenience to the public.
He assured to present a detailed report on the bridge to the Chief Minister at the earliest possible so as to explore under which fund head construction of the same could be initiated.
Further noting that banks of the Khujaorok river near the bridge are on the verge of falling apart, Letpao said as the Water Resources Minister he will ensure construction retaining walls at the earliest with funding from NESID.
Officials of the WR department were also present during the inspection.
On the other hand.
Letpao Haokip visited Sahei village, located on the outskirts of Moreh town, met with the village chief and inspected the local playground along with giving his assurance to develop the playground in the interest of the players, the youths in general, as the playground has been hosting many major tournaments of Moreh town.
Earlier in the day, the minister visited S Moljol village where he had a meeting with the village chief in the presence of the Manipur International University (MIU) chancellor Dr Harikumar Pallathadka.
They discussed about the proposed construe tion of a University Campus under UNESCO at Moljol and the process and requirements for acquiring the land area for the purpose.
It may be mentioned that MIU is an Autonomous State Statutory International University recognised by the government of Manipur and established under an Act called as the Manipur International University Act 2018.The varsity is recognised and listed under the University Grants Commission (UGC) .
