Imphal, August 29 2021:
While commenting on the stategovernment's alleged inaction in addressing the skyrocketing prices of urea, Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee has accused the government of making a business out of the shortage of urea faced by farmers in the state.
In a statement issued by its general secretary, the party remarked that the state government has failed short of its proud claims of ensuring adequate supply of urea to farmers of the state.
The government has lost its meaning to exist as it failed to provide the urea in time.
Questioning the whereabouts of the urea bags to be provided to the farmers, the party said that the government's inaction towards addressing the price of urea, which is now being sold at Rs 1200 per bag, has publicly shown that it is making a huge business over the shortage of urea.
"The crops cannot ripen and be harvested just by sitting still and not repairing the irrigation points or resolving the shortage of urea", TMC remarked and urged the government to provide the urea to the farmers as soon as possible.
