Works highlighted to hill scribes

Imphal, October 28 2016:
A power point presentation and slide shows were demonstrated to hill based journalists under the Manipur Hill Journalists Union today at the Chief Minister's Secretariat.
Senior Government officials including Commissioners presented the different schemes executed and are being taken up in the hill districts before the hill based journalists.
The schemes executed and being taken up included Health, Power, Tribal Area Inclusive Growth Infrastructure Projects, PWD, and works taken up under the PMGSY.

Addressing the media persons, the Chief Minister said that there is no question of the Government wanting to inaugurate any of the projects without completion.
It is also not a question of seeking publicity, he added.
What the Government wants is that the benefits of all the development projects should reach the people.
Stating that the focus of the Government is on the development of the hills, the Chief Minister said that 80 pc of the schemes taken up under PMGSY, Tribal Area Inclusive Growth Infrastructure and PWD and aided by external agencies such as North Eastern Council and Asian Development Bank are taken up in the hill districts.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and other members of the Council of Ministers attended the media briefing session.
