Imphal, October 28 2016:
People of Manipur can visit Ukhrul any time they wish for Ukhrul is located within the territorial boundary of Manipur, and no one should raise any objection, asserted Congress MLA RK Anand.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of a newly constructed community hall at Meitram Awang Leikai.
Anand stated that he is not the least bothered by the Tangkhul Naga Long's (TNL) assertion that they would not allow Chief Minister O Ibobi to visit Ukhrul.
The Ukhrul ambush was not against the Chief Minister.
It was against all the communities of Manipur.
The Government of India should not make any gesture which may embolden NSCN-IM from carrying out such subversive activities, said the MLA.
If the militant group cannot comply with the cease fire ground rules, New Delhi should withdraw from the cease fire agreement.
At the same time, NDA should terminate their alliance with Naga People's Front (NPF), Anand said.
Threats issued by the frontal organisations of NSCN-IM cannot intimidate the people of Manipur.
One should not forget that several development programmes were taken up in Ukhrul district at the initiative of the incumbent Government.
He went on to say that BJP is opposed to the territorial integrity of Manipur.
He also demanded that the Government of India should divulge all the details of the Framework Agreement it signed with NSCN-IM on August 3 last year.
Anand pledged that he would never work against the wishes and aspirations of the people of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC for they elected him twice without any expenditure.
