Imphal, January 27 2014:
With the revised survey by NNN in the past two days, at least nine candidates are most likely to contest in the Manipur Outer Parliamentary seat in the forthcoming Lok Sabha.
While eight political parties will field their respective candidate, former Lok Sabha MP Mani Charenamei will be contesting as an independent candidate.
Sometimes back, NNN had projected that seven candidates were likely to be in fray in the Outer seat.
But Loli Adanee of the BJP has informed Newmai News Network this evening that he 'will' contest from the BJP ticket in the Outer constituency of Manipur.
"I had contested twice on BJP ticket in the past Lok Sabha polls and I will be contesting again from the same party of mine," affirmed Loli Adanee.
Adanee had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha polls from the BJP ticket in the year 2004 and 2009 .
When queried if a decision had been taken by the BJP on his candidature, Adanee quipped, "I will get the BJP ticket and I have full faith in my party" .
However, speculations are rife that former minister Prof Gangmumei Kamei is also lobbying hard for the BJP ticket.
Also talking to NNN this evening, former Lok Sabha MP Kim Gangte said her candidature to contest from the Trinamool Congress ticket has been confirmed.
"Yes, I'm definitely contesting from the Trinamool Congress ticket in the Outer Parliamentary constituency of Manipur in the forthcoming Lok Sabha poll and there is no doubt about it", she said, while disclosing that the name of Trinamool Congress party candidature for the Inner seat will be decided in the next few days by the party leaders.
Meanwhile, the North East Regional Political Parties Front (NERPF)'s strategy in connection with the ensuing Lok Sabha poll in the North East region will also picture the front's distribution candidates in Manipur.
With the Naga People's Front (NPF) time and again affirming to field its own candidate in Manipur hills, it is speculated whether other regional parties in the fold of NERPF in Manipur context have consented to the NPF candidature.
Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Naga People's Front (NPF), United Democratic Party (UDP), Hill State People's Democratic Party of Meghalaya (HSPDPM), the Manipur People's Party (MPP), Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP), Manipur Democratic People's Front (MDPF), Mizo National Front (MNF(, People's Party of Arunachal (PPA)and Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) are the ten political parties that have formed the NERPF on October 20 last year in Guwahati with Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio as convenor and former Assam chief minister and leader of AGP Prafulla Mahanta as the chief advisor.
On the other hand, former minister C Doungel is reportedly contesting from the NCP ticket while president of All India Tribal Students Association (AITSA) K Zou is speculated to be fielding from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Still, well placed sources said PA Sangma led National Peoples Party (NPP) is also likely to be in the fray in the Outer seat.
For the Congress party, ticket seekers are becoming more hectic and many of them are camping in the national capital.
Again, speculations are also doing the round that non-Congress and non-BJP parties are also keenly observing the situation in the hill districts.
