Criticising the ex MLA of Wangoi assembly constituency for alleged unethical nature, Wangoi MLA Kh Loken has said that it may be the first for a politician to tender apology for a remark he or she made.
Speaking at the inauguration of a community hall at Irom Meijrao Maning Leikai, which was constructed under his local area development fund at a cost of Rs 20 lakh on Tuesday, the MLA affirmed that he joined politics to serve the public and he has shown his commitment on the first anniversary of winning the election.
Nobody should take the membership of the legislative assembly for granted as one's political career will be over once the public lose trust on him/her, Loken said.
He also pledged to bring inclusive development and prioritise improving road connectivity, drinking water facility and other basic infrastructure in the constituency in order to make it a model constituency.
At the same time, socio-economic development is another sector, which should be accorded importance, he said while urging the public not to see politics and development as one.
At the same time, candidates in any election should not indulge in any activities, which could create enmity among the people and bring violence, he stressed.
Former ZP member L Sur, Irom Meijrao GP former pradhan Sougrakpam Manihar, former up-pradhan Saikhom Memma, and ward members as well as social worker K Maipak also attended the inauguration function.
