Imphal, March 13 2022:
BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Sarat has refuted allegations levelled against him in connection with the recently conducted state assembly election in respect of Jiribam assembly constituency.
Addressing a press meet at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday, Sarat said that he declared his decision of not contesting the election after BJP announced list of candidates and he did not get the party ticket.
The candidate aspirant said he faced pressure from different sides to contest the election but refused the proposal as he strongly believes in the ideology of BJP.
As he was shocked to see BJP losing in Jiribam AC, some individuals are making baseless allegation against him, which is very unfortunate, he said and added that he will file defamation suit against those people.
He also clarified that he never communicated with Ashab Uddin in the run up to the election.
One of his workers shifted allegiance to Ashab Uddin on his own volition and he has nothing to do with it, Sarat reasoned.
Workers are not permanent and they may shift side but it is unfortunate to accuse him of supporting Ashab Uddin in the recent election, Sarat added.
