Imphal, March 13 2022:
Newly elected candidate of Wangkhei A/C Thangjam Arunkumar has observed that the state may have a weak opposition.
Speaking to media persons at his Chingmeirong residence on Sunday, Arunkumar said that a good government could be brought despite having a weak opposition if the leaders of the ruling party are committed to work for the state and the people.
Several political parties including JD (U), NPF and independent candidates have extended their support to BJP.
As such, the opposition party in the state will be very weak this time, he noted.
Maintaining that JD (U) is an alliance partner of the NDA government at the centre, he continued that the party supported BJP in the state because of the decision taken by the central and state leaders.
The new government will surely bring positive changes in the state, he hoped.
While assuring of taking up developmental programmes to bring changes in the constituency, Arunkumar also extended heartfelt gratitude to the people of his constituency for supporting him and electing him as their representative in the recently concluded election.
