Shots fired at NPP candidate's house

In what is suspected to be a case of post-poll violence, unknown miscreants opened fire at the residence of Andro-NPP candidate Lourembam Sanjoy at Yambem village on Saturday night.
The incident occurred around 10.30 pm.
On hearing news of the incident, a team of Andro PS arrived and conducted preliminary investigation, wherein they recovered several casings.
Addressing a press meet on Sunday in connection with the incident, Sanjoy expressed dismay over the onslaught of gun attacks at his house pre and post-poll, some of which resulted in injuries.
Even while the Andro PS team was investigating into the incident after arriving around midnight, some unknown miscreants continued to fire several rounds towards his house and that of Nahakpam Ibotombi and Md Kamaruddin.
As such, he urged the authority concerned to look into the matter so as to ensure that the people of Andro are able to live in peace and safety.
L Sanjoy then appreciated the voters who voted for him in the recent election and sought forgiveness for not being able to achieve the goal of serving the people as the elected representative.
However, he pledged to continue working for the denizens of the constituency and appealed to the people to extend their support in this regard.
