BJP workers protest threat by armed goons

BJP workers in Mantripukhri area organised a sit-in protest in front of Sahu Mandir, Mantripukhri on Sunday against the alleged intimidation of party's supporters by JD-U workers while the former were distributing sweets from house to house on Saturday celebrating the victory of BJP in the recent assembly election.
Interacting with the media, BJP Manipur Pradesh OBC Morcha state executive member Ashok Prasad Sahu said that they were simply celebrating the victory of BJP in a peaceful manner hoping that a second term of BJP would bring more development in the state.
It was unfortunate of the JD-U workers to exhibit firearms and intimidate the BJP supporters, which include several women, and tried to create tension among the people of different communities residing in Mantripukhri area.
They even threatened of unwanted consequences when passing through Chingmeirong area if the BJP supporters continue to act against their interest, Ashok Prasad said.
Taking the matter seriously, he appealed to the government authorities to look into the matter in order to prevent any unwanted outcomes.
