Rajen takes oath as Protem Speaker

Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh was sworn in as Member elect of Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
Governor La Ganesan administered him the oath of office.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat has informed all the newly elected Members of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly to bring their Certificates of Election when they come to attend the oath taking ceremony to be held at 11 am of March 14 at the Assembly Hall.
Sources informed that some Central leaders of BJP including observers may arrive here today and they may appoint leaders of BJP Manipur Pradesh legislature wing.
The swearing-in ceremony of S Rajen was held at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan.

Caretaker Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Th Biswajit Singh, Y Khemchand Singh, Govindas Konthoujam, L Sushindro Singh, Chief Secretary, DGP and top officials attended the ceremony.
Talking to media persons after the ceremony, Rajen Singh said, as a senior member he has been appointed as the person before whom newly elected Members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly shall make and subscribe an oath of affirmation until a Speaker of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly is elected.
When asked about formation of a new Government in the State, he said, BJP is a well disciplined party and all elected Members will abide by the decision taken by the party's high command.
There is no in-fight for the Chief Ministerial post, he added.
Thongam Biswajit Singh while talking to media persons after the swearing-in ceremony said, some baseless news reports have been circulating about formation of new Government in the State.
He said, there is no in-fight or opening of camps among the elected Members of BJP.
"All members would adhere to the decision taken by the party's Parliamentary Board and within a few days we will come to know that who will lead the new Govt in the State," he added.
