Monsang memorial hall inaugurated

Tengnoupal A/C MLA D Korungthang on Friday inaugurated a hall for Monsang tribe named 'Ng Mono Monsang Memorial Hall' at Japhou town in Chandel district headquarters.
The inauguration of the hall named after the first MLA from Chandel District Ng Mono Monsang, who was elected in 1948, was attended by Autonomous District Council Chandel ex-member Sh Manglem Monsang as functional president while ex-MLA.
St Victor Nunglhung, ex-MP BD Behring and ex-MLA W Morung Makunga were guests of honour.
Sirti Upa Ruh (SUR/Monsang Tribe Union) president Ng Gilbert, speaker Ts Andrew, advisor Ng Behithan and UNC, CNPO leaders, Monsang public leaders, pastors, Christian Mission workers, Monsang village chiefs, SER, MLLS, MOA, SOA, SSR, and STS which are Monsang frontal organisations too attended the programme among others.
Simple gifts were presented to families of Monsang Tribe Union first president late Ng Manglemchao, general secretary late Ts Phamjir, former president Sh Kothar and former presidents of the union including Th Angpatin, Ts Ngamtin and Ng Benithan.
It is said that the land plot for the memoriarhall was donated by late W Lartin Monsang while he was the village authority chief of Japhou village on August 8, 1981 to Sirti Upa Ruh.
