Maram bodies fete K Khamba

Maram-Thangal Council (MTC) in collaboration with Maram Union, Thangal Union and Maram Thangal Region on Thursday organized a felicitation programme in honour of K Khamba Maram who was recently elevated to Member of Collective Leadership NSCN/GPRN at Maram Centre Local Ground.
In his welcome note, MTC president John stated that Khamba was rewarded with the prestigious position for his endurance and sacrifices, said a release issued by MTC.
Thangal Union president, YK Kaping said that there may be certain misunderstandings in the affairs of every organization and society but it is reconciliation that bridges the gap and strengthens an organization.
He also expressed his confidence that the elevation of K Khamba will weave more unity between Maram and Thangal communities both at the level of Naga Government Administration and CSOs.

Maram Union general secretary, Pungdi P Celestine conveyed that God has been kind to the communities of Maram and Thangal not only in providing the beautiful landscapes and its vast resources, cultures and traditions but Almighty God has continued to sustain even the present generations for prosperity.
"Now as a member of collective leadership, the highest decision making body of NSCN/GPRN, we believe Khamba will be the voice of the people and enhance the smooth relationship between the Government of GPRN and the public at grassroots", he asserted.
K Khamba Maram expressed his gratitude to NSCN (IM) general secretary, Th Muivah, Collective Leaderships and elders of NSCN/GPRN for inducting him into the Collective Leadership.
The Act of Blessing was done by Rev Cheijinba Rakhangmi, executive secretary of TNBA while Pungdi Jobson, caretaker EO, Maram Thangal Region proposed the vote of thanks.
Prominent public leaders including former Minister Francis Ngajokpa; former Deputy Speaker, K Raina: Robert Maram, working president NPF/MSU; Former ADC Members- A Rang, Thomas Luba and LR John along with members of Maram Students' Union, Thangal Students' Union and different CSOs attended the programme.
Moreover, gifts to Khamba were presented by various Village Headmen/Chairmen, Catechists /Pastors and Church staff, well-wishers and Maram-Thangal CSOs.
Earlier, Rev H Kaba, executive secretary MRNBA; Lamak Jacob; Headman Maram Centre Village and Taruluikang, president MCRC invoked invocation prayer, benediction and lunch prayer respectively.
