TUC restricts poll events sans permission

Thangmeiband United Club (TUC), which is an apex body of 23 clubs under Thangmeiband assembly constituency, has resolved that prior permission for organising mass campaign, procession and house campaigns for any candidates should be taken from the club so that the campaign of one candidate does not overlap another on the same day.
In a release, TUC informed that the club convened a meeting on Sunday and adopted several resolutions including limiting hoisting and installation of flags, putting up festoons and sign boards related with election and banning hosting of parties involving liquors at election related camps and booths.
The meeting also resolved that the timing and route for publicity of candidates will be decided by TUC so as to prevent verbal fight against each other and that public meetings should be organised after discussing with the club.
Moreover, only one meeting should be organised in a day, the release conveyed.
While informing that a joint meeting with the participation ofintending candidates will be convened soon, TUC urged candidates to pay attention on issue based politics and promote the idea of a united Manipur.
