Missing person found dead, JAC demands justice

Imphal, May 22 2022:
The body of one Korimayum Abdulla, who went missing since May 16, was fished out from Imphal River near Arong Khunjao Mayai Leikai Litan Makhong on Sunday.
The lifeless body of Abdulla (23), son of Abdul Barik of Yairipok Changamdabi Makha Leikai, has been taken to JNIMS mortuary for post mortem examination.
Meanwhile, a public meeting was held at the locality of the victim and a JAC formed in relation with the death of the youth.
The meeting demanded police to arrest and question Md Baskar, Md Sajish Khan of Yairipok Ningthounai and Md Tarique of Yairipok Tulihal, who went out with the victim on the day he went missing.
They also demanded the authority to investigate the death and arrest the people involved in the murder while cautioning of launching agitation and not claiming the body until the killers are arrested.
Meanwhile, AMMOCOC, in a statement, said that the victim went out of his house with some of his friends on May 16 around 4 pm.
He never came back and has been missing since then.
Bruise marks were also found on his body, the statement said, while urging the government to investigate the incident and award befitting punishment to the killers.
AMMOCOC also extended support to the JAC in its movement for pursuit of justice.
Meanwhile, another source said that according to the three friends with whom the victim had gone out, they had dinner with one Md Majibur and his wife Sana of Lilong Nunggei Khunou, at Majibur's house.
After the dinner, Majibur and his wife asked the trio to leave while keeping the victim at their house.
Following the recovery of the body, Md Majibur and his wife Sana have gone hiding, the source said.
