Imphal, May 22 2022:
Zomi Students' Federation (ZSF) condemned the recent incident of gang-fight and violence by students in the proximity of Sielmat Christian Higher Secondary School.
In a release, the Federation stressed that the said incident should not be repeated under all circumstances and wondered how any difference between minor students could escalate to such a dangerous level of violence.
The ZSF is always open to work with any individual, group(s) or association (s) to ensure a conducive and cordial environment for the student community and is always willing to play its part in suppressing such flagitious acts among the students, it added.
While wishing the assaulted student speedy recovery, it also appealed to the district administration to take the stringent action against the accused student(s) under law of the land.
The Federation also palled upon the people to fight against the common issues, social evils and hazardous acts in their respective operational area and exercise maximum restraint to avert occurrences of such unwanted incidents.
Meanwhile, an agreement has been arrived at between the family of Thangrotluong, who was the victim of a fight that occurred on Friday near Sielmat Christian Higher Secondary School and the families of those who beat him.
As per the agreement signed by the two sides and witnessed by HSA CCpur president Jeffrey Saihmang and KSO CCpur general secretary L Minlal, the agreement was made after a meticulous discussion at the office of Hmar Students' Association (HSA), Joint Headquarters in Churachandpur.
The negotiating parties agreed that families of the perpetrators will bear all expenses for the treatment of Thangrotluong until his full recovery, to meet again whenever necessary to discuss this matter and that the victim family will not file a complaint to the police or any court of law against the other parties as the matter has been finalised, it added.
