Imphal, September 16, 2009:
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the killing of Ch Sanjit has urged all concerned not to go on celebration spree during the coming festivals like Vishwakarma and Durga Pujahs in view of the agitation against the fake encounter killing of Sanjit and the people's demands that follows.
A statement issued by the JAC also urged all concerned to restrain themselves from entertainment programmes and using loudspeakers in every locality in order to show solidarity to the agitations and movement of the people in the wake of Khwairamband killing incident.
It reminded the state government that the agitations could not be silenced by inducing the relatives of Sanjit like it has done on many occasions.
Saying that this is not the time the people should remain silent, it urged all concerned to extend support in toppling the SPF government.
It added that the killing of Sanjit in fake encounter may not be the end.
Pledging to carry on the agitation until the demands are fulfilled, the statement appealed all clubs, organisations, associations, etc to restrain from conducting entertainment programmes in their respective localities.
