Will develop Keinou shrine as heritage site: Sanajaoba

Titular king of Manipur and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba has assured to contribute his mite towards development of the 250 years old sacred site of Ibudhou Langon Ningthou and Ibendhou Langon Leima at Keinou Thongkha Konung Manung as a heritage site by June/July next year.
The titular king was attending the annual offering made to the deity at the site, which was rediscovered in 2001.He also hoisted the Salai Taret (seven clans) flag during the event.
On seeing the sacred site, which he opined to be bestowment of the forefather's belief and of immense historical value, Sanajaoba said good fortune began to shine upon the people of Keinou after the site was rediscovered in 2001 which is in itself a sign of the presence of the deity.
He reiterated that the importance of the site will be discussed with state government for developing the same as an important heritage site.
Oinam MLA and KVIB chairman L Radhakishore said that the site of Ibudhou Langon Ningthou was found as Asian Fort in the revenue record.
Before realising the identity of the site, Keinou residents used to face misfortunes frequently.
However, after discovering that the site belongs to Ibudhou Langon Ningthou, they began to hold annual rituals and people started to experience good fortunes.
He also stressed the need for retracing various lost or forgotten sacred sites in different places and to develop them for a peaceful society.
