Three dog traders held with 10 dead dogs

A combined team of Narcotics Cell, Jiribam and Jiribam police arrested three dog traders along with 10 dead dogs along NH 37 at Chandrapur area of Jiribam district on Monday.
Sources said that the three individuals, namely Jaujianthuan Guanmei (25) son of Husung Guangmei of Sangrungpang village, Tamenglong; Alanna Gangmei (35) wife of Barnabash Gangmei and Crosby Gangmei (26) son of Thuanbamnang Gangmei both of Longmai Part IV in Noney district, were travelling in a Cruiser bearing registration number AS 11DC 5749 from Jiribam towards Noney.
They were intercepted by the combined team led by Narcotics Cell, Jiribam in-charge ASI A Krishna and Jiribam PS SI T Rameshwor, who were on routine frisking exercise near Chandrapur oil pump on Monday morning around 7.30.Upon checking, police found 10 dead dogs in the Cruiser and the trio confessed that they bought the dogs from Ramgaizang village in Cachar, Assam for sale in Tamenglong Bazar.
Jiribam Police registered an FIR against them under section 11(1)(a)(d)&(k) of PCA Act.
They were produced before JMIC Jiribam and penalised.
The dead dogs were buried at the waste dumping site of Jiribam Municipal Council in front of media persons.
