Kangpokpi, October 14 2015:
Chiefs of Thanamba and Lower Thanamba, Sadar Hills on Wednesday clarified that Lower Thanamba village had long been distinctly demarcated with a separate polling station under Kangpokpi.
A joint press communiqu signed by D Achampu, Chief and Chairman of Thanamba village and ZD Apao, Chief and Chairman of Lower Thanamba said that Lower Thanamba village had been clearly separated from Thanamba village on June 28, 2011 with separate polling station of 50/29 Kalapahar (C) which was duly recognized by the then Additional DC, Kangpokpi.
Since then Thanamba and Lower Thanamba became two independent villages in official affairs with ZD Apao as the chief of Lower Thanamba and D Achampu as the Chief of Thanamba with official declaration and lawful rights, added the two chiefs while clarifying that there are no conflicts and interference between the two villages in any administrative and official affairs.
However, the two chiefs alleged that one H Ngaopuni, Chief of self-styled Pou village in Senapati district has been acting as the Chairman of either Thanamba or Lower Thanamba every now and then with his self-made official seal at the time of official works.
While clarifying that H Ngaopuni has nothing to do with the two villages, the chiefs urged all concerned authorities not to entertain and accept any official letters or papers put up or processed by H Ngaopuni in favour of Thanamba or Lower Thanamba using the self-made official seal in future.
The Chiefs of Thanamba and Lower Thanamba also warned to take up legal action with the aid of Court if H Ngaopuni continues his dishonest activities in future.
