Boundary dispute solved

The boundary dispute between Leitan Sailam Village and Lonte Sailam Village within Tengnoupal district have been solved by The Mate Tribe union (MTU) General HQ as per the Kuki customary on November 10, said a statement released by S Thangkholen Mate, secy info and publicity MTU GHq.
The statement maintained that the village chief of Lonte Sailam, C Jamkhomang Mate killed a full grown pig as a customary feast and gifted one mithun to Khaiminlen Mate, chief of Laitan Sailam village to show his gratitude, love and affection for gifting him a part of his village land.
To show his act of good gesture and blessing, Laitan Sailam village chief Khaiminlen Mate presented traditional shawl to village chief of Lonte Sailam, C Jamkhomang Mate and handed over No Objection Certificate, it claimed.
It further lauded the solution brought by MTU GHq and appended their signature in the presence of family elders and leaders of the MTU GHq and declared Lonte Sailam Village a full fledged separate village.
