Bodies condemn murder of Raj Gajmair

Several civil bodies of Moreh have voiced strong condemnations against the murder of Raj Gajmair (22) s/o Khenu Gajmair of Moreh Ward number 8 on Friday.
The bodies also submitted a charter of demands to Tengnoupal DC to book the perpetrators responsible for the crime, among other demands.
A press release issued by Hill Tribal Council stated that the murder took place around 8 pm at Muslim Nagar near border pillar number 79 Moreh Ward number 7 on Friday and the victim's body was found dumped at Mission Veng Moreh Ward number 2 and along with the deceased, his companion one Mubarak (24) of Sekmaijin, Wabagai was found seriously injured.
He was rushed to Imphal for treatment.
The accused has been identified as Zia-Ul-Haque alias Rohit (32) s/o (L) Zia-Ud-Din of Muslim Nagar Moreh and one co-accused who is yet to be uniden--tified.
The accused persons are still at large, the Council said and contended that the accused is an agent of security agency.
The release also urged security agencies to do its best to prevent recurrence of such crimes in future and timely fulfil the demand submitted by various communities on behalf of the victim.
It also said that committing murder at one place and dumping the dead body elsewhere at the vicinity of other residential area, apart from bringing disgrace to the people of the area is seen as a ploy to create communal enmity and such practices can never be tolerated, it added.
The Hill Tribal Council along with Moreh-based Manipur Muslim Council and Gurkha Samaj Seva Samiti also submitted a charter of demand to Tengnoupal DC demanding arrest of the accused at the earliest, grant ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh, provide government job to the nearest kin of the deceased, replace the car belonging to the deceased which has been damaged by the accused and fulfil the demand within 48 hours.
It also warned that in event of failure by the government to fulfil the demands, the body will not be claimed and public agitation will be organised till justice is delivered.
