Education Minister instructs contractors and officials

Imphal, April 09 2021:
Education Minister S Rajen Singh has instructed contractors and officials to complete all the ongoing works taken up by the education department within the prescribed time.
The Minister was speaking to media during an inspection visit to schools in the Imphal West yesterday.
He said that the education department is very strictly supervising work progress of most of the ongoing constructions through concerned officials of the department.
Concerned contractors have also be informed to hand over completed structures in time so as to enable to smooth functioning of the schools in the state.
Minister also warned to those non-performing contractors.
New work orders have also been issued replacing old ones for not complying to the prescriptions of the work order issuing authority.
Show-Cause notice have already been served to those inefficient and defaulter contractors, minister added.
Speaking regarding the below quality work of the new building of Sekmai Higher Secondary School which is under construction, Rajen Singh instructed the concerned contractor to dismantle the wall portion of the new building and replace with a new quality wall.
He also advised the officials of the Education Engineering Wing to strictly supervise the work so that there is no issue in future.
Later the ministerial team visited Hindi Secondary School, Kanglatongbi and inspected the new construction of the school.
The team also visited classrooms and interacted with the students.
Minister also visited Lilasing Khongnagkhong Govt High School.
Minister Rajen Singh was also accompanied by MLA, Sekmai Assembly Constituency, H Dingo Singh, Education Director, L Nandakumar Singh Chief Engineer, Education Engineering Wing, L Saratchandra Singh, K Victor Singh, Executive Engineer and other officials of the department.
