CM Ibobi assures Manipur Guest House in Tripura

Chief Minister O Ibobi has assured that the Chief Minister of Tripura would be approached for providing a suitable place in the municipality area of Agartala for construction of a Manipur Guest House in Tripura.
The assurance was given to a two-member team of Manipuris from Tripura who called on the Chief Minister at his office chamber at Babupara around noon today.
The two-member team included Wangkhem Biramangol, who is the Assistant Secretary of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Tripura and Kshetrimayum Madhabi, who is the Secretary of Lamyanba, a Socio-Cultural Organisation promoting Manipuri culture in Tripura.
During the meeting with the Chief Minister, the two Manipuris from Tripura were accompanied by Mutuwa Bahadur, Director of Mutuwa Museum, Manipur; Namoijam Tomba, member of Advisory Board of 'Pandam', a monthly journal in Meetei Mayek; M Sivdutta Luwang, Editor of Hueiyen Lanpao (Meetei Mayek edition) and MLA K Ranjit.
During the course of the meeting, the visiting team submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister urging him to help in constructing a Manipur House in Tripura considering the relation which has been existed since time immemorial between the two States as well as for the convenient of a number of Manipuri students studying in Tripura.
The visiting team pointed out that it would also help in building integration among the Manipuris settling in the State.
The memorandum also requested for the kind pleasure of Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh as the Chief Guest on the occasion of Irabot Day celebration which is to be held at Agartala on September 10 next.
Chief Minister O Ibobi informed the visiting team that he would be sending a written statement to the Chief Minister of Tripura urging him to provide a suitable place in the municipality area of Agartala for the construction of a Manipur Guest House in Tripura, today itself.
