Jiribam, April 19 2013 :
Absence of fencing around Jirighat Govt Jr HS has rendered the school's toilet as a public toilet.
This was found during an inspection drive conducted by volunteers of Manipuri Students' Federation under its 'Lairik Ningthina Tamshi' campaign.
Addressing a press meet after the campaign in Jiribam area, vice-president of MSF Jiri Branch, M Nilkamal said that four sets of computer provided to the school have been lying idle gathering dust as the school has no computer teacher.
There are only eight teachers in the school besides there is no partition of the classrooms.
The chowkidar of the school, who is from Imphal, is also found absent.
The inspecting team learnt that the chowkidar returned home after staying barely for around three months, the student body highlighted.
At Lambasorok Jr HS, two, among the eight teachers posted at the school, are found not attending school.
All the ten sets of computer were kept unused at the store room.
No mid-day meal were given to the children in 2012, the student body said.
The MSF also drawn the attention of the concerned authority to pay attention to the pitiable condition of schools in Jiri area.
