ZCC, ZU condoles

Noted playwright of the Zeliangrong community, Poujairung Thaimei, who is also incumbent vice-president of Zeliangrong Cultural Council passed away today.
He was 76 .
At the same time, the Haomei Chapriak Pei (Zeliangrong Cultural Council) and Zeliangrong Union (AMN) have condoled the sad demise of Poujairung Thaimei.
Remembering him as the finest playwright of the Zeliangrong community, who wrote more than 20 plays and the first to produce a Sumang Leela in Kabui dialect, a condolence message of the ZCC said his demise is an irreparable lost for the Zeliangrong people.
Besides writing poems, song, lyrics for his plays, he had also won the President Natya Sangh Award in the All India Multilingual Short Play competition consequently in 1981 and 1982 .
A retired BDO, Poujairung Thaimei is also known for his sincerity and transparency as a Govt officer.
Also a sports enthusiast, he was a football player of Keishamthong Kabui Youth Union who represented his team in various football tournament including CC Meet.
P Thaimai was also the secretary of Kabui Naga Association Plot Trustee Board, chief justice of Zeliangrong Union Pei, president of League of Fourth World people, Advisory Committee member of the Manipur State Kala Akademy Library, governing body member of NEZCC.
Sharing the grief of the bereaved family, the ZCC and ZU (AMN) also prayed that the departed soul rests in peace.
