NEET PG exams for Aug 30 Meitei, Naga candidates allotted CCpur centres

Imphal, August 13 2026: Some Meitei and Naga candidates of the NEET-PG 2026 exam have been given exam centres at Churachandpur.

The exam to be conducted by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is scheduled for August 30, 2026 .

Taking strong exception to the allocation of exam centres for the Meitei and Naga candidates at Churachandpur, DESAM has urged the authorities concerned for reallocation of the exam centres either at Imphal or the other valley districts.

Highlighting the matter, the student body today submitted a memorandum to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand, Lok Sabha Member Dr Bimol Akoijam and Rajya Sabha Member A Sharda.

The memorandum sought reallocation of NEET-PG 2026 examination centres from Churachandpur to valley districts, preferably Imphal in view of the prevailing ethnic conflict and security concerns.

According to the memorandum, as many as 29 Meitei and Naga candidates from Manipur, who had selected Imphal, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching as their preferred examination centres, have been allotted Churachandpur as their examination centre even though Churachandpur was not among their preferred choices.

Given the prevailing ethnic conflict and security situation, candidates travelling to Churachandpur may face serious difficulties and concerns regarding their personal safety, transportation and unrestricted movement, it said.

Noting that NEET-PG examination is a highly important and career-defining examination for medical graduates, DESAM asserted that all the candidates must be provided with a safe and accessible environment in which they can appear for the examination without being subjected to avoidable security concerns or mental stress arising from the prevailing situation.

The student body appealed to the Governor, Chief Minister, Lok Sabha (Inner) Member and the Rajya Sabha Member to intervene with the NBEMS and other authorities concerned and take necessary steps for the reallocation of the examination centres allotted at Churachandpur to Imphal or to any other suitable and accessible examination centre within Manipur.
