29th MU Inter-College Youth Festival begins

The three-day 29th Manipur University Inter-College Youth Festival 2015 organised by Manipur University Cultural Committee kicked off on Wednesday at MU Centenary Hall, Canchipur.
The opening ceremony was attended by Chief Secretary O Nabakishore as Chief Guest; Art and Culture Secretary K Radhakumar as Guest of Honour and Manipur University Vice Chancellor H NK Sharma as President.
Manipur University Dean of Students' Welfare Dr Mohilal also attended the opening function.
Speaking at the function, O Nabakishore said that students from various colleges will have the chance to share their knowledge and ideas during the three-day long youth festival.
"Students will get to know each other and will also help in building their careers.
Students who participated at the festival will be the future pillars of Manipur," said O Nabakishore and added that such events will help students achieve their goals.
Art and Culture Secretary K Radhakumar stated that people need to work hard to dream of a bright future.
Students should overcome all their difficulties and limitations to achieve their goals.
Focusing in other fields while sacrificing education may cause problems in future putting obstacles along the path of a successful life, he said.
MU Vice Chancellor Prof H NK Sharma informed that Manipur University became a part of educational tourism after the University was upgraded to the status of a Central University in October 13, 2005.Pointing out that MU had made many times brought fame in the inter-university festivals earlier, the VC also appealed the students to bring laurels after representing MU at the inter-university festivals.
