The All Manipur Joint Government Higher Secondary Students' Union today in a memorandum submitted to the state education minister L Jayentakumar has set deadline on February 8 to withdraw the cases against the principals and teacher in-charge of the six government higher secondary schools in the connection non-compliance of government order by allegedly insisting the students not to participate in the Republic Day and revocation of their suspension orders.
The memorandum was originally mean for submission to the chief minister, O Ibobi but police blocked the students asked them to submit in to the concern minister.
Hence the memorandum was submitted to the education minister after meeting with him.
In the memorandum, the students unions while setting deadline on February 8 to fulfill their demands warned that if the government does not convert into action then, they will launch severe form of agitation till the demands are meet.
The students union said that teachers is a community who think for the welfare and betterment of the students and any disturbances should be given to them by any group to them which will amount to effect in the teaching atmosphere.
The students also appealed the principals and teacher in-charges to attend schools as usual and discharge their duty in normal ways.
