Disease Specialist of State's Veterinary department Dr K gopal has categorically denied any misappropriation of Central Government funding under the 'Assistance to State for Control of Animal Disease' programme amounting to Rs 1.97 crores.
Speaking to newspersons this afternoon, Dr Gopal said from of the allocated amount six local firms have been engaged for supply of veterinary equipment.
Listing the firms as Kanglei Veterinary Enterprises (Palace Gate), Thiyam Enterprises (Sagolband), CS Enterprises (Haobam Marak), care Enterprises (Khoyathong), Times Offset (Paona Bazar) and Hopson Offset (Bijoy Govinda), he claimed these firms have already begun supplying the equipment.
Further stating that plans for setting up two disease diagnostics laboratories have been finalised by the Department, the disease specialist confided of work already underway for one of the laboratories at the Sanjenthong premises of the Department's Veterinary Hospital while order has been issued by the State Government for establishment of the other at senapati district.
He, however maintained that exact location for the project at senapati district is yet to be identified for the time being.
