Imphal, February 04 2009:
Emphasising that regular supply of electricity to all localities will enhance the much needed quality education in the state, the Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has today urged the authorities to ensure regular supply of electricity, importantly, in the wake of the impending Class X (Board) and Class XII (Council) examinations.
In a press statement, the MSF general secretary incharge, H Chandradhon said that power is needed all throughout the year as examination after examinations have been lined up for students.
It said that even if the people of the state have sorted out various policies to usher in quality education, the end-result will never be productive as expected as long as the evenings of the days are marred with poor and irregular power supply.
It said that the government can be said as bias in supplying power regularly only to well off families as students from poor background who use candle lights and lamps could not read longer under the dim lights.
It said this results in poor health conditions of the deprived students.
As such, it demanded regular supply of power to all particularly taking into consideration the coming two important examinations of Class X and XII .
