Covid cases rise by 17

Imphal, August 26 2022:
The State added 17 new COVID-19 positive cases and reported zero covid related fatalities during the last 24 hours.
The 17 positive cases were reported from Imphal East (3), Imphal West (10), Bishnupur (1), Churachand-pur (2) and Kamjong (1).As the 17 cases were found positive while testing 532 samples across the State, the daily positivity rate was reported at 3.2 per cent.
Kamjong district reported the highest daily positivity rate amongst the districts with 16.7 per cent as 1 sample out of 6 returned positive for COVID-19 .
The addition of the 17 new cases has pushed the cumulative number of positive cases in the State to 1,39,671 including 1,34,651 from the general population and 5020 CAPF personnel.
As the State reported zero covid related fatalities during the last 24 hours, the death toll stayed at 2146 .
21 individuals were discharged today after comple- tion of surveillance leaving 86 active cases as of today.
The recovery rate continued to be at 98.40 percent.
2266 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered yesterday at various vaccination centres across the State.
Till yesterday the State had vaccinated 62.30 per cent or 16,27,260 of its eligible population with first doses while 54.36 percent or 13,01,027 have received the second dose.
2,38,640 have also received precautionary doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
