Food processing unit inaugurated

Imphal, February 26 2018:
An augmented Food Processing Unit under the name "KANGLEI FOODS" was inaugurated today at Oinam Awang Leikai, Oinam by Hon'ble Minister of Commerce & Industries Shri Th.Bishwajit Singh.
The Minister also attended the valedictory function of the training programme on Food Processing organized by Oinam Awang Leikai Women's Development Association (OINAM) in association with CSIR � Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore and Deptt.
Of Commerce & Industries, Government of Manipur.
In his inaugural address as chief guest,Th.Bishwajit stated that Manipur has enough natural resources but has not been utilized to the optimum level.
"We have good soil which can produce delicious products with good qualities.
If this type of entrepreneurship is encouraged, it will add the household income of the people and help in solving unemployment problems of the state in the long run" he added.
He encouraged the organizers to improve their products so as to attract buyers from the international market.
He also assured that assistance will be provided from the government, if and when available, to enlarge and improve the food processing unit.
