He said a model village should be unique, attractive and a source of inspiration to the neighbouring villages and outsiders to adopt its model.
Hence, a model village must be advanced from other villages in every perspective, be it in health, life style or discipline apart from having the basic amenities like those of urban areas.
People in a model village should create healthy environment, adopt hygienic lifestyle, free from diseases.
Immunization and vaccination of children must be done in'time and villagers should adopt scientific methods of animal husbandry.
He conveyed that necessary instructions and guidelines for developing a village as a model village will be given by authorities concerned, such as DCs, BDOs and other Government officials concerned.
Moreover, the Government will provide all the necessities, including power supply, roads and other basic amenities on priority basis but villagers' cooperation and sincere works are crucial to meet the standards of a model village.
He appealed to all the villagers not to squander the opportunities provided by the development of Serou as a model village.
Noting that Aadhaar card has become necessary in every scheme and personal affairs, Baite asked all villagers to obtain Aadhaar cards.
Informing that Government of India has informed every MP to choose three villages in their jurisdiction to develop them as model villages, the outer Manipur MP asserted that Serou has been chosen as one of the three model villages considering its geographical location.
