Imphal, September 20 2010:
The proscribed RPF has rubbished the allegations of Additional SP (Ops) Dr AK Jhaljit which linked the recent attacks and killings of non-Manipuris with the outfit.
Sgt Maj Nongmeikapam Naoba alias Nanao alias Shankar (28) s/o N Bidhu of Koirou, Thongju Part II was forced to speak the police version after subjecting him to severe torture.
A press release issued by the outfit's Publicity Secretary T Leisemba asserted that only a law court has the authority to pronounce a man guilty or not.
Manipur Police have no authority to indict Sgt Maj Shankar for the killings of non-Manipuris just by parading him before media.
Recalling that Manipur Police had the audacity to claim that Sanjit was a UG cadre and he was killed in encounter after he was killed in cold blood, the outfit clarified that Maj Thounaojam Romen alias Robin (42) s/o Netra of Naoremthong Khullem Leikai has been working in the party's CAO.
He never issued any instruction to Sgt Maj Shankar to target non-Manipuris.
The outfit categorically stated that RPF/PLA was not related with the gun attacks on non-Manipuris at Wahengbam Leikai, Hodam Leirak and Takhel leikai.
As a matter of principle and policy, RPF never saw non-Manipuris as enemies.
However, the State Government, using their secret agents, has been killing non-Manipuris and blaming revolutionaries.
Even as non-Manipuris wish to go back to their native States, the State Government has been confining them in a four walled compound at Dharamsala without providing them adequate food.
This was gross human rights violation.
It is a pertinent question if any one would dare to kill non-Manipuris in Imphal city where security personnel have been deployed all over.
The RPF has been coordinating with the Maoists in their common struggle against the Government of India.
Non-Manipuris struggling for their livelihood in Manipur are a part of 23 crore people of India who have been victimised by the oppressive regime of India, it alleged.
But the reality is many agents of security forces and RAW have been working as spies and informers by masquerading themselves as daily wage earners, it asserted.
This strategy of New Delhi compelled the outfit to ask the non-Manipuris to bid farewell to Manipur even as the outfit loves them as true friends.
To RPF, all outsiders who came to Manipur after October 15, 1949 are non-Manipuris, it reiterated.
