Parents, teachers and students of Don Bosco School, Langmei, Tamenglong district, lived up to the true spirit of Teachers' Day and was celebrated in a befitting manner, with cultural dance presented by students of the school, to mark the day.
Social worker Wilubou Newmai, Captain M Dixit of 10 Dogra Regiment and Principal of Don Bosco High School, Father Mathew Tharakan attended the function as the chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.
Addressing the students and parents as well as teachers, Newmai stressed on the need to improve the present education system in the State by giving more emphasis on moral education.

"Education without moral values is like a ship without a Captain.
Parents and teachers have a big responsibility in shaping the character of their children and ward," he added.
The chief guest also quoted the examples of Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, who all dedicated their lives for the betterment of all and added that they truly deserve the to be called great personalities.
"Education is not only about cramming information into our heads.
It is also about man-making, life building and character building," said Wilubou Newmai.
