Cooperation given to developmental works : CM

Chief Minister O Ibobi today inaugurated the 1st National two-day Bioresources and Sustainable Development Summit 2015 at the IBSD complex Takyelpat.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Bioresources theme park inside the campus.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the State Government is giving necessary attention to various developmental projects in the State.
The State Govt has extended full cooperation to National projects which have been implemented in the State, he said.
The CM also claimed that the ambitious Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal rail line is one of the fastest railway projects undertaken in the country with the cooperation of the State Govt.The State Government is taking up measures to develop Lamphel and Takyel areas as institutional areas.
The State Govt has provided 332 acres of land for the establishment of NIIT at Lamphelpat besides providing land for other institutes like CAU.

He also asked to all the encroachers and illegal residents on Government land to vacate at the earliest before legal action is initiated against them.
The CM also mentioned that plans are afoot to develop Loktak Lake and Sendra hills as mega tourist centres with assistance from the Centre.
The State Government is also mulling on setting up cable car service from Sendra to Chaoba Ching and to develop the Keibul Lamjao National Park, he added.
Further, the CM said that people of the State are fed up of violence and they are yearning for peace and development.
The inaugural function of the two-day Summit was attended amongst others by Director IBSD, professor Dinabandhu Sahoo and Works and Transport Minister Dr Ratankumar as the president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion Director of IBSD Imphal, Dr Dinabandhu said that IBSD is one of the most vibrant societies which is being headed by a Union Cabinet Minister and has the State CM as its vice president.
The Society has also Ministers of Sciences and Technology of all North Eastern States and 5/6 officials of the Govt of India in the rank of Secretary as members.
Considering the rich bioresources and bio-diversity of the North East region, the institute has been set up at Imphal for research and management of bioresources of the region, he said.
During the last 14 years, the institute has taken up several activities and published various research papers.
He also stressed the need to find new and innovative ways to tap and utilise the bioresources.
Prof Sahoo also called upon all concerned to help realise the concern of the scientists and the Government about safeguarding the precious wealth while urging all concerned to change their thinking towards the realisation and creation of 'Brand Manipur' .
Delegates from various nooks and corners of the country have registered for participation in the Summit.
The Chief Minister also launched the "Save Sangai Campaign" as well as "Save Siroi Lily Campaign" an idea conceived by Prof Dinabandhu Sahoo during the programme.
