As observed elsewhere across the world, the International Mothers' Day was observed at Manipur Baptist Convention, Centre Church here today.
One main feature of the observation was crowning of Ajin Gonmei with the Mother of the Year 2015 title.
Ajin Gonmei of Dewlalane is a mother of four daughters and one son.
She successfully groomed all her children fit to be public servants and all of them are now serving in different Government Departments.

The function was opened with the presentation of a musical composition titled 'A tribute to mothers' by children of MBC Centre Church, Children Ministry.
Kinai Jemima also presented her song 'I love you mother'.
Elangbam Surjit Kaur Gill gave a short testimony which was followed by a prayer session.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev Dr Daniel Kashung said that observation of Mothers' Day is about showing one's love and respect for all mothers.
Harping on the momentous role shouldered by women both within families and the society at large, Dr Daniel Kashung said that a mother's mind is always preoccupied with the safety and well-being of her children.
To a mother, her children are the most adorable darlings and a mother's love for her children never diminishes.
But there is a need to groom each girl with such meticulous care that they can become good mothers in future.
When each woman has the temperament and calibre of a good mother, there would be peace and the society can progress much faster, Dr Daniel Kashung said.
All women should always keep in mind Napoleon Bonaparte's saying "Give me a good mother and I'll give you the world", he added.
The International Mothers' Day was also observed at Kids Mould School, Yairipok Bamon Leikai today under the aegis of Meitei Baptist Church Yairipok.
Good Tidings Kids Center, Khangsim Principal Donphomngam Saka delivered a speech based on Mothers' Day.
Founder of Kids Mould School cum Pastor of Meitei Baptist Church M Samuel Meitei extended monetary assistance and other gifts to widows of Bamon Leikai.
